Fiona and Eddie are one of the youngest and most energetic couples I have met. They told me they will get married at Fleur Weddings & Events, a brand-new wedding venue in Melbourne. After a visual meeting, they happily hired me as their Melbourne wedding photographer, and I am so excited to be their wedding photographer. Although Fleur Weddings & Events is a newly emerged wedding venue, its lavish style with permanently draped floral arrangements on the ceiling and stylish lighting setup has great potential to attract more couples to get married there or refer it to friends planning their weddings. I believe that if I photograph a great wedding at Fleur Weddings & Events, many couples will have a chance to see my portfolio and will surely inquire about my services for their wedding photography in Melbourne. Luckily, I met my expectations—I captured some fantastic photographs for Fiona and Eddie at Fleur Weddings & Events. And I’m not boasting, the photos tell the story themselves. One more thing surprised me: When Eddie collected the photos, he told me that his uncle had also used our wedding photography services two years ago. They didn’t realize it at the time, but when his uncle asked him, “Who is your wedding photographer?” and Eddie said he chose Tree Studio, his uncle laughed and said, “We have the same taste!”
Fiona and Eddie’s ceremony was held at Overnewton Castle, and they might be one of the last few couples to get married there, as the owners sold the land to a school. Eddie told me the developer offered the owner an offer they couldn’t refuse. However, Overnewton Castle, which is a renowned wedding venue, still provided the excellent service and experience it has been known for over the last 30 years. Fiona and Eddie had accommodations provided by Overnewton Castle for their preparations. Eddie got ready in the on-site cottage at Overnewton Castle, and Fiona prepared at a well-established Airbnb near the ceremony site.
The weather was perfect for wedding photos, as it was overcast, and the lighting was great for the bride and groom’s skin tones. It also represented the nice and rich colors of the greenery background and flowers in the Overnewton Castle garden. After the sacred garden ceremony at Overnewton Castle, Fiona and Eddie took advantage of the convenient wedding photo locations at Overnewton Castle. Since the couple was very energetic and full of love, I encouraged them to jog on the lawn in front of the castle. They ran together, laughing and laughing at each other. I used high-speed shutter speed to try to capture as many candid and romantic wedding photos as possible. Later on, we went inside the castle to the spiral staircase, which is an iconic spot at Overnewton Castle. I climbed to the top of the stairs and had the couple stand at the bottom, taking photos from the top. The stairs created a perfect composition, forming a flawless spiral line, which shares the same concept as Da Vinci’s use of geometry in composition.
After the photo location shoot, I drove to the day's destination, Fleur Weddings & Events, my dream wedding venue located in Fawkner. I arrived earlier than most of the guests, so I had plenty of time to take detailed photos of the decorations at Fleur Weddings & Events. My first impression when I entered the function room was the iconic ceiling with lavish floral arrangements and modern chic LED lighting. On the guest tables, there were also full and rich floral arrangements for the centerpieces. I used the symmetric composition method to take the wedding photos for the decoration shots. Apparently, I placed the bridal table in the center and kept all elements—such as the floral arrangements, dance floor, lighting, etc.—in a good balance and harmony. I think I am a recurring Da Vinci. The bridal party entrance was epic that day. When the MC announced them, the bridesmaids and groomsmen entered the function room to loud rock DJ music and danced to the beat of the music. What an energetic bridal party! Finally, Fiona and Eddie entered the room wearing stylish sunglasses, and Eddie used a toy gun to shoot out lots of fake money into the air, replicating a scene from the movie The Great Gatsby.
