The venue views were absolutely stunning, the food was fantastic, and the staff on the night were very friendly and welcoming. However, the reason for my 3-star review is that I feel the venue has significant opportunities to improve when it comes to catering to their customers’ needs.There are a few points I think are worth mentioning for future brides considering this venue:• Wet weather backup: Unfortunately, there is no suitable rain backup option for canapés. On rainy days, guests are required to crowd onto the dance floor, which feels cramped. An awning that can extend near the dance floor doors or by the side umbrellas would greatly improve guest comfort and better suit Melbourne’s unpredictable weather.• Wedding coordinator experience: Compared to other venues in the area, the wedding coordinator Rodney was more difficult to work with. He sold himself as the best wedding coordinator in the Yarra Valley but once paperwork was signed this did not show. Requests were often declined without explanation or attempts to find a compromise, Email responses were slow, and calling was more effective. We were also asked to attend an in-person meeting for paperwork that took only 10 minutes, much of which duplicated information already provided. As we lived far away, this felt unnecessary and could have been avoided with closer attention to our submitted paperwork. Additionally, the coordinator strongly insisted on changing the order of our speeches, stating “that’s not how it should be,” which felt unnecessary as couples should be free to plan their day as they envision it.• Bridal suite bathroom: The bridal suite bathroom is in need of renovation.• Storage limitations: The venue requires all items to be delivered three days prior to the wedding, yet storage space is extremely limited. The small storage room contains items from multiple weddings as well as the venue’s own supplies, which raises concerns about items being stored safely. The venue does not allow items to be delivered closer to the wedding date. This was frustrating, as there is a risk of damage without proper storage. Building a dedicated storage shed on the property would help the venue meet its own requirements.• Cake storage: There is no cake fridge on site, meaning cakes must be delivered very close to the event start time. This limits cake supplier options and may require choosing a local vendor who can accommodate this.• Chair options: Chairs do not have colour options or cushions, which is something most wedding venues typically offer. This may be due to limited storage, but additional options would greatly enhance styling flexibility.Overall, the venue has incredible potential with its views, food, and on-the-night staff, but improvements in planning support, communication, and facilities would significantly enhance the experience for future couples.

Had an absolutely fantastic time at our wedding at Vines of the Yarra Valley. It is such a beautiful venue that is the perfect size for a wedding of just under 120. From the moment after our first visit we knew it was perfect for us. Having access to the bridal suite all day to get ready in was great as well, so glad we used it. It's a big space and great for large bridal parties.And the food - incredible!! Had so many compliments from our guests who just loved it.A big thank you to Rodney, Sue and Angela who were all great to work with throughout the planning process. It felt very seamless - they are very good operators and true professionals!
