Bella & Steele Wedding Photography at Trofeo Estate
From the very first meeting with Steele, I couldn’t hide my excitement when Bella and Steele invited us to photograph their wedding at Trofeo Estate. As a Melbourne wedding photographer, I’ve photographed many well-known wedding venues across Dromana and the Mornington Peninsula ranges, but Trofeo Estate was a first for me. I had heard so much about its award-winning Australian catering and its magnificent scenery—rolling vineyard hills, rustic red-brick architecture with a modern touch. All of these elements come together to create the perfect canvas for wedding photography.
Groom Preparation – Steele’s Morning
Like many weddings, I began the day photographing Steele at his home. He was in a relaxed, chilled mood, enjoying the comfort of his modern, minimalist house—perfectly aligned with Bella and Steele’s wedding aesthetic.
Within minutes of my arrival, Steele had already laid out his stationery and accessories: cologne, cufflinks, boutonnière, and a beautiful golden pocket watch. That watch immediately stood out to me—it perfectly reflected Steele’s elegant and romantic personality. I carefully styled all the details to create clean, professional groom preparation photos.
Steele had five groomsmen, each bringing their own sense of humour. The atmosphere was full of laughter and easygoing fun. Once everyone was dressed, I suggested heading outside to the deck. The overcast weather paired with lush greenery created beautifully soft, natural lighting—ideal for candid photography. The groomsmen stood casually in a circle, with Steele naturally at the centre. They chatted and laughed while I quietly captured authentic moments, often without them even noticing I was there.
Bridal Preparation – Bella’s Elegance
When I arrived at Bella’s home, she looked absolutely stunning. Her makeup and hair were flawless, and her wedding dress was the perfect balance of simplicity and modern elegance. The gown featured a long, flowing train that photographed beautifully.
I positioned Bella in front of a window where sheer white curtains softly diffused the natural light. The room was bright, modern, and filled with calm energy. Bella stood facing the window, her back to the camera, gently holding her bouquet at her waist. This pose highlighted the gown’s details and created a serene, timeless image. She looked peaceful and radiant—truly enjoying the moment.
With minimal direction—casually looking back at the camera, softly playing with flower petals—everything felt natural and effortless. Soon after, Bella’s bridesmaids joined her. They wore green dresses in slightly varying shades, creating a soft gradient effect. This mismatched green palette is a beautiful and emerging trend for 2026 weddings.
After capturing family portraits with Bella and her loved ones, I headed to Trofeo Estate for the ceremony.
Ceremony at Trofeo Estate
The ceremony space was beautifully prepared. A floral arch framed the altar, and wooden chairs complemented the rustic vineyard setting perfectly.
Adding a unique and heart-warming touch, Bella and Steele’s two Border Collies walked down the aisle before the bridal party. Our studio also has a young Border Collie, so I know how intelligent—and sometimes mischievous—this breed can be. Thankfully, they behaved perfectly.
The flower girl followed, tossing petals into the air as I captured them mid-flight—such a romantic moment. Steele waited eagerly as Bella appeared from the garden, walking arm-in-arm with her father. I noticed a brief sparkle in Steele’s eyes—pure emotion.
The vows, ring exchange, and first kiss were unforgettable. Their kiss ended with a dramatic dip, Steele’s hand firmly at Bella’s waist—it instantly reminded me of a classic, timeless wedding photograph.
Couple Portraits – Vineyard Romance
After group and family photos, it was time for my favourite part of the day: the couple portrait session. Now officially husband and wife, Bella and Steele were relaxed, joyful, and completely at ease in front of the camera.
Trofeo Estate’s tree-lined driveway created a stunning natural frame. Standing in the middle, they held the bouquet together, chatting and laughing while I photographed quietly from a distance. Their expressions were genuine, relaxed, and full of love.
We then moved into the vineyard. The season was perfect—the vines lush and green, creating a rich, romantic backdrop. As they walked hand-in-hand, I gently asked Bella to glance back at the camera. Her look was effortless and elegant.
Vineyards are ideal for neo-romantic wedding photography. The fresh air, greenery, and open space naturally ease any nerves, allowing couples to simply be themselves. Bella and Steele walked, talked, linked arms, and shared quiet moments—each one translating beautifully into timeless photographs.
Reception & Sunset Magic
The reception was held inside Trofeo Estate’s red-brick restaurant, featuring high ceilings and an industrial yet chic atmosphere. As the light softened into the evening, the energy remained high.
Bella later changed into her second dress—a shorter, more relaxed outfit perfect for sunset photos. This added an incredible bonus to the gallery. As the sun dipped low, Bella jumped into Steele’s arms. Living up to his name, Steele lifted her effortlessly, and they shared a kiss mid-air. It was an epic moment and the perfect way to end an unforgettable wedding day.
