One thing that we love about the Half Acre is its versatility, with two lawn areas and an building called Miner’s Hut, you get to choose to hold your wedding ceremony either indoor or outdoor based on your vision as well as the weather condition.

 

Under the ideal weather condition, the lawn in front of the homestead remains as the most popular ceremony location at the Half Acre. The spacious lawn caters up to 180 ceremony guests and uses the elegant white wall backdrop offered by the homestead. The bride and her bridesmaid can be dropped off by wedding transport near the gate and then walk down the aisle.

I am so grateful for the attention to small details – Half Acre making sure we were fed in during the wedding photography session; having fireplaces ablaze in the woolshed, timing when I needed to walk down the aisle, having umbrellas ready for the rain ahead. I did not need to think of a single thing- could just enjoy my day with my husband. Gorgeous venue. You don’t need to go anywhere else for photos. Our Melbourne wedding photography and videography nailed our photos and videos as well. Moved seamlessly from ceremony in the garden to pre dinner drinks in the miner’s cottage to reception in the woolshed. Flawless.

 

Karina: Half Acre is a restaurant located in South Melbourne, Victoria. The restaurant is accessible via PTV tram 109 (Towards Port Melbourne). It is only a few stops away from Southern Cross Station. The environment in Half Acre is good and the food is delicious. Scotch fillet (beef), roasted barramundi fillet (fish), and baby snapper (fish) are highly recommended. Although the quantity (serving) is insufficient (small), the quality (taste) is extremely good. The restaurant has a ballroom which can fit roughly 30 – 50 people. The ballroom is well-decorated and is suitable for function including business dinner, Wedding, and birthday celebration.
