Tips for wedding photography on the Dandenong Ranges
With century-old tall trees, ferns and lush greenies, Dandenong Ranges is a unique place that unlike any other places in Victoria. Are you getting married soon or doing wedding photography at the Dandenong Ranges, here are some tips that will help you to get stunning wedding photography at this magical place.
Plan your wedding photo location time
As a Dandenong wedding photographer, I cannot stress how important it is to plan your wedding photo location time well on the Dandenong Ranges, especially when you are planning to do sunset wedding photography. Due to the number of tall trees, the lighting on the Dandenong Ranges will end earlier meaning if you are planning to do sunset wedding photos, arrange the session at least 40 minutes earlier than the actual sunset time on the day.
Choose the right colour
On the Dandenong Ranges, green is probably the most prominent colour you will find and they add a lot of natural vibes to your wedding photos. However, this also means that the bride needs to keep in mind that when choosing dress colour for her bridesmaid, green should be avoided as this will easily make the bridesmaid blend into the backdrop. Colours such as black, navy blue and burgundy red which make a good contrast with green will make the subject pop out on your Dandenong wedding photography.
Prepare a wet weather plan
Melbourne is known for its unpredictable weather, especially for Dandenong Ranges where short period of rains is quite often to experience. As a Dandenong wedding photographer, I believe rain actually adds a touch of romance onto the couples’ wedding photography. For couples, if the weather forecast shows that there may be rain on your wedding day, couple sets of clear umbrella can be prepared for the bride and groom as well as their bridal party so we can get some really fun and candid shots.
