A Brief of Showtime Events Centre
Located on the DFO South Wharf, just 12 minutes from Melbourne’s CBD, the Showtime Events Centre is a flagship Melbourne wedding venue, and just one of the stunning wedding venues in Melbourne owned by the award-winning Showtime Events Group.
Housed in a converted wharf shed by the Yarra River, the Showtime Events Centre boasts industrial glam décor, including restored wooden boards, wrought iron chandeliers, LED feature wall, and stunning views of the Melbourne city skyline – all of which makes for some stunning Melbourne wedding photography.
As a Melbourne wedding photographer, this is definitely another of my favourite venues to shoot at – and it seems a lot of couples agree with me, with more than 400 coupled hosting their big day at the venue over the years. The Showtime Events Centre was also previously named ABIA Best Wedding Reception Venue in Australia and three-time winner of ABIA Best Wedding Reception Venue in Victoria.

Weddings at Showtime Events Centre
If you’re looking for a venue that will make for a wedding day to remember, the Showtime Events Centre is it. Housed in a converted wharf shed, the Showtime Events Centre is steeped in history and heritage, with a range of on-theme design features that make for some pretty stunning backdrops for your Melbourne wedding photography.
This industrial glam, warehouse-style riverside venue features a range of on-theme design features, including restored original hardwood boards, stone bars, custom-designed wrought iron chandeliers, and LED illuminated wrought iron walls. A riverside marquee is also available for use, if you want to take full advantage of those Melbourne cityscape views.
Not only does the Showtime Events Centre promise amazing wedding photography opportunities, great food and drinks, and impeccable service, by having your wedding at the Showtime Events Centre, you will also be able to take advantage of the expertise of the experienced events coordinators and wedding planners from Showtime Events Group, who will work with you to create a wedding ceremony and reception to remember.
Looking for something slightly more chic? Why not check out the Showtime Events Centre’s sister venue, the Cargo Hall – located just a little further down the promenade. Also situated on the South Wharf at the foot of the Pan Pacific hotel, this industrial chic venue features a glass atrium and cargo ship-inspired design. The hull stage, long dining tables, and boardwalk lining the atrium are just some of the drawcards of the Showtime Events Centre’s sister venue.

As a Melbourne wedding photographer, I always love shooting weddings at any of the Showtime Events Group’s venues – but the Showtime Events Centre is one of my personal favourites. As one of the Group’s flagship Melbourne wedding venues, the Events Centre offers a range of stunning backdrops for wedding photography, making it easy to capture all those must-have shots on your special day.
I particularly love shooting against the venue’s industrial glam décor, which creates an interesting backdrop that you won’t find in many other wedding venues in and around Melbourne. Of course, the stunning city vistas that surround the venue also make for some incredible shots, so I always make sure to sneak a few of these in as well!
